Wow!!! 3 posts in 1 day!!! What is wrong with me??? lol

Okay I also just made a birthday card for my nephew Seth; It was missing something.... ding ding ding- then I remembered something- the light went off :) I knew just the thing- my dear friend Jenn shared this awesome technique using bubble wrap; which I've heard has been out for a while; but I personally have never used it--- I frantically went searching for some knowing that's just what my card needed- thanks Jen!!! I love it!!!

New Page-

Sometimes you just have those ordinary days and a picture that deserves to be showcased... this picture is one of my absolute favorites of Jimmy... this is an ordinary day for him... ;)

The search is over!!! ;)

Okay so I have to say I am so happy right now!!!! I have been searching for the Heidi Swapp distresser for months; really months. Seriously???? Seriously. :) Anyway I finally received a call from it's about time scrapbooks last night letting me know it came in--- YAY!!! I can't wait to use it. Can you believe it's only a $1.49 and it's taken me this long to find one to purchase!? Well the search is officially over and I am so excited...
While I was there I couldn't resist the urge to purchase some pretty stuff for the crop I am going to with my sister in law in June. Soooo excited and can't wait to get into it!!! :) Some pics of my purchase are below.
On another note; did anyone see that hilarious posting on Donna Downeys blog of her in Tuscany. If you haven't you should- it cracks me up. Poor thing; she is supposed to be teaching a workshop and half her luggage is missing at some other airport- yet she seems to have a very understanding fun group of ladies to hang with!
Anyway I am excited to create some kind of layout- using my new distresser of course; so I gots to go!!! :)

Project Complete!!!

Okay so I have been working on a mini album for my Papaw (Grandfather) ... he took Shianne on a trip to Knotts Berry Farm when she was 3; wow!!! 5 years ago; and I am barely making the album!!! :) I really rushed this one and did it in small rushed stages (if that makes any sense) hahaha... It came out pretty cute; I think I'll get to give it to him tomorrow; I hope he'll enjoy it as much as I did making it! :)

Back from the San Diego Zoo...

We had so much fun yesterday at the zoo with the kids. So many interesting and funny animals to see. It was a little chilly in San Diego; good thing we remembered to bring sweatshirts. Next time I will definitely do the smart Motherly thing and check MSN weather. :) Anyway I have some really cute pictures to share; it was hard to decide which ones to post; because there were so many good ones!

Okay so call me someone who doesn't get out much; but I have never seen Koalas sleep before; they are adorable...

This camel was sooooo funny; the second I got my camera out it held his head up high and flashed me one big Madagascar style grin...

Couldn't resist the following purchase; little zebra slippers for our new nephew Lokin; they are so little in person.

Tomorrow we have our 30 day walkthrough for our home; so I will have a busy day cleaning and making that list of things to be fixed... Fun!!! :)

The glue that holds us together...

This was sent to me by my Dad... It's an eye opener...
__________________________________________________________________

A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely) on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio...and I was BLOWN AWAY! I want to share what I learned....but I fear not being able to convey it as well as I want. I will share anyway.

He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is...how He spoke the universe into being...how He breathes stars out of His mouth that are huge raging balls of fire...etc. etc. Then He went on to speak of how this star-breathing, universe creating God ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder. At this point I am LOVING it (fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know.) ....and I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school as I learned more and more about God's handiwork. I remember so many times thinking...."How can ANYONE deny that a Creator did all of this???"

Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who created all this, also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart...how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.

And then I lost my breath.
And it wasn't because I was running my treadmill, either!!!
It was because he started talking about laminin.
I knew about laminin. Here is how wikipedia describes them :"Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue." You see....laminins are what hold us together....LITERALLY. They are cell adhesion molecules. They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell. Without them, we would literally fall apart. And I knew all this already. But what I didn't know is what laminin LOOKED LIKE.

But now I do.
And I have thought about it a thousand times since (already)....
Here is what the structure of laminin looks like...AND THIS IS NOT a "Christi an portrayal" of it....if you look up laminin in any scientific/medical piece of literature, this is what you will see...

Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!!
Amazing.
The glue that holds us together....ALL of us....is in the shape of the cross.
Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind.

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth , visible and invisible,
whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;
all things were created by him and for him.
He is before all things,
and in him all things HOLD TOGETHER. "
Colossians 1:15-17

Call me crazy. I just think that is very, very, very cool.
Thousands of years before the world knew anything about laminin, Paul penned those words. And now we see that from a very LITERAL standpoint, we are held together...one cell to another....by the cross.

You would never in a quadrillion years convince me that is anything other than the mark of a Creator who knew EXACTLY what laminin "glue" would look like long before Adam even breathed his first breath!!

We praise YOU, Lord!!

Meet Madison... Brenden has Madison the Koala for the weekend; this is his preschool's classroom pet. So far we have taken her to the grocery store; with safety in mind! Yes... she wore a seatbelt!!! :) Some pictures are just too cute not to share. Shianne posing in her sunglasses (so dramatic) ;)
I also added one of Jimmy- he cracks me up!!! :)
Well let's see... today my Dad and Mom are coming over to paint again! I love spending time with them together; it's really nice. Can't wait.... I guess I better stop reading all this blog stuff because my house really needs a quick speed clean before they get here!
