Blessed by Blog Hopping...

One of my favorite bloggers P 31 ministries; Lysa Terkeurst. I just loved this entry and had to share. I'll give you a little bit of it so you'll want to read more.

"Then I must take up my cross...

My cross. Stop the blaming and finger pointing and wishing everyone else would change... and see my sinful reaction as a negative contribution to the problem at hand. I must take my issues to His cross and see my sin for what it is- sin. And I must be disgusted enough by my sin to truly want to do something about it.

Take up my cross. It's hard. But it is the way with Jesus.

Finally, I must follow Him...

Really follow Him. Follow who He is and how He is. I must close my mouth, pause long enough to let Him interrupt my eruption, and let His Spirit redirect me. Yes, my children need to be corrected but I can let the consequences scream so I don't have to. Only a calm mama can think of rational, reasonable consequences that instruct.

When the world lets you down- Be Reminded- God Never Will!

There are and will be people in this world who will let you down and want to put you down for your past. I am so grateful for my Savior who forgives and wipes away the old and makes me new. I am reminded gently and lovingly by His spirit that He and only He can do this so perfectly; and to never expect this from the world. I am thankful everyday for what may come across to the world as insecurity; is in reality a spirit of humbleness. I've honestly asked the Lord to show me how to be more outgoing-more fun-louder- more outspoken. I am reminded He has made me the person I am and I know somehow in someway and maybe even now He will use these traits for His glory. I am also thankful for His word has taught me to have a spirit of forgiveness for those who may not yet understand and resort to saying hurtful things. In this I can learn to Love as He Loves and this is my prayer.
There is such healing in His word and I wouldn't have it any other way.

"Therefore as Gods chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be Thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the Father through Him." Colossians 3: 12-17

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

"He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun" Psalms 37:6

Jimmys Parents Day Performance...

Jimmys class had a parents day before going off track. It was a reality check for me that there will be no more kindergarten performances for me to see after this school year. :( This Mama is hanging onto every moment I have left of Kindergarten. The songs they sing are adorable; it's just such a fun grade...I've joked about it in the past...hmmm is kindergarten teaching in my future? lol. I don't know if you can see it in the picture...but what he is holding is a ladybug door stopper. Soooo cute. Hand painted red with black fingerprint dots. The green grass was painted using his four long fingers. How precious is that for a keepsake to keep our door open for a lifetime.

Oh...and Shiannes' long wavy hair...
The night before...

The day after...
I soooo remember my Mom doing this to my hair too!

A Legacy worth leaving behind...

Just the other day my daughter was talking to me about her diary and how much she wants to pass it on to her daughter one day. I totally remember thinking the same thing when I was a little girl. However; little did I know then... that diary was full of stuff I would never want her to read. Then as I started going through my box of old memorabilia I found journal entries I had written to her while I was pregnant with my special gift from God; my little girl who I named Shianne. Literally the pages just before that were filled with despair, hurt, upset, such neediness- just full of no life; only sadness. I felt like I didn't even know who that girl was... I didn't even remember feeling THAT bad. Then as I turned the pages of my past to an entry written shortly after I found out I was pregnant, I was in awe and just felt the Lords embrace so real on my heart. These pages instead of despair, hurt, upset & neediness were replaced with my heart trusting in the only ONE who could truly give me life. A Father I could go to when I felt I was in despair. A Father I could go to who would truly heal my hurt. A Father who would hold my hand and teach me to be angry yet not sin when I felt upset. A Father who would always fill my neediness to be forgiven and loved when I lose my way. This Father of mine is no other than Jesus Christ! HE is the legacy I want to pass on to my children! I had an awesome opportunity to sit down with her and read her these entries of hope in a Savior who I began and continue to trust whole heartily with my life and hers. To share with her that He did and always will meet us RIGHT WHERE WE ARE. I had the chance to share with her just how much of a blessing she has been to me since the day I found out she was growing inside me. My little girl (now 10) and I were beaming tears of joy at these entries we shared together. When I say BEAMING I really mean it; it was a moment that I will treasure forever. Looking back I am so grateful that my Savior has brought us so far.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old is gone, the new has come!" 2 Cor. 5:17

"Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." Psalm 37: 4-6
